;0)

how would you feel if someone tells you "why would i want to share .... I want to keep you for myself?" i have always believed that it's only me who owns myself and no one else (talk about girl power and women's liberation). even if i am in a relationship, i own myself... but someone told me these words.... and i just can't help but get weak, and feel like curling... like a shrimp! ;0)

i'd fly with you superman.... anytime... and yes.... you can always keep me for yourself... promise! ;0)

a taste of "gold"

two months ago, gigi volunteered me to play volleyball when she learned that i used to be a volleyball player. many years ago, volleyball was the love of my life. it was during my elementary years when i learned the game. in high school, i joined the varsity team during my junior and senior years. i was lucky to be chosen to go thru a series of training for the Palarong Maynila. my mother used to curse volleyball because i was falling short of my academic requirements due to the number of hours i put on training. in college, i was able to play volleyball during the intramurals called Bakbakan til my sophomore year.

more than 10 years have passed since i last held on a volleyball. two months ago, thru gigi, i decided to join the game here in the office. we first started with the stretchings (which i enjoyed the most), jogging around the court, then the drills, spike, toss, service. it was like deja vu of my younger years when i held on to the volleyball like a kid holding on to a precious toy/candy.

during the game, i had to struggle, had to learn to hit the ball properly, serve properly. i attempted to spike but i had the wrong timing with the jump (hay, i am used to smashing a shuttlecock not jump and spike a volleyball).it was painful hitting the ball (hello, 10 years!) that's why when i went home, i was in black and blue. i decided to come back the following week and continued to play, and last saturday, i joined the Intercolor Tournament here in ADB.

There were four teams: yellow, orange, blue and green. ( i belonged to the green team). The elimination round was race to 30 for only 1 set (teams exchanged courts when any of the team reached 15). We only lost to orange who had a varsity player with them (Sue, yung petition online, hehehe!) during the elimination by 3 points! (sayang). however, we defeated the other two teams making us eligible for the championship.

the championship round was played with 2 sets, race to 15. we were all nervous, because orange had the psychological edge over us since they were undefeated entering the finals. (not to mention the fact that they had a varsity player with them) but with the team effort and hard work of each member, we tasted gold! we won the championship! galing mo talaga anna banana at gorgy porgy ;0) so to all my greenmates, Anna, Em, Yllah, Aiko Cris, Tintin, Harry and my Kuya George... CONGRATS!!!

the green team

by the way, just a sidelight during the tournament. harry took pictures of the girls as we candidly pose for him. thanks harry for this pic ;0)

meatless!

last friday, i made a pact with a friend that we will do away with meat. he got the inspiration from the actress Juliano Palermo who went vegetarian 4 months ago. he said she had glowing skin ( i actually think that the glowing was mainly due to the wonders of dermatology and not because of being vegetarian, hehehe! no pun intended).

anyhow, we agreed that we will try to remove meat from our diet. for the meantime that we are starting, only red meat is not allowed (wahhh!!!!! good bye inihaw na liempo, barbecues and steaks!!!!) so we can still eat fish and other seafoods, and chicken, but only the breast part and without the skin ( geeze! why did i even think of agreeing to this?!?!?!!) Later on we'll try to be strictly vegetarian- ONLY VEGGIES (that is if i am still alive to even proceed with this stuff)

5 days.... no meat.... and still counting ;0)
