the magical movie stardust

we received a text last saturday night a little past 11:00PM from aileen asking us to watch a movie entitled stardust. it was kinda odd, first, aileen is not the type who texts late at night if it's only about a movie (kung report pa namin sa class to pwede), and second, she indicated in her text that she has just watched it. huh? she was inviting us to watch this film with her, eh kakapanood lang nya? (naka drugs ata talaga si aileen!)

so come monday morning, we were making plans already, shuffling are own schedules to accommodate the movie. we decided to watch at podium which was showing the movie at 5:55PM. sadly, jo and aileen (who wanted to watch it again) weren't able to join us because of prior "commitments" (tsuweh!) so it was me, rocel, jimmi, brye and rhoda.

stardust is a film by Matthew Vaughn based on Neil Geiman's novel. It's about A young man named Tristan (Charlie Cox) who professes her love to Victoria (Sienna Miller) by promising her a fallen star Yvaine (Claire Daines). The story becomes more complicated because of the people who also wanted to star: the sons of a king who needs the star for the throne and Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer) who needs the star to make her young again. Tristan later on encounters a pirate named Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) who changes his quest as he found true love with Yvaine.

the moviehouse was empty when we entered, later on a couple joined us. the movie had good pacing, no dull moment. it actually started with high energy and that energy kept building and building til the last scene.

The story cuts right through your very heart as it tackles finding true love, finding your star who will light up the sky for you, finding that someone who gives you that magical experience beyond the competence of words. (now i am carried away!) Surprisingly, the movie was also sssssssoooooo funnnnnnyyy! we were simply laughing our hearts out because of the movie! WARNING: the succeeding lines may be spoilers for those who have not seen the movie yet: Imagine Robert de Niro (The Godfather, yes he played the young Don Vito Corleone) a whoopsie! and dancing while wearing a dress with pink feather fan; imagine a girl with the most beautiful breasts replied when asked her name (with a low, well-modulated male voice)"Bernard" Hahaha! The exchanges of lines of the characters (with the English accent, don't you just love people with accents? ;0) were also hilarious and very witty!!!
I just fell in love this film! (and yes, with Tristan! aruy!) This is one of those films i won't mind watching over and over again (in fact we're watching it again tomorrow, hahaha! for the sake of Jo). KAALIW talaga siya! so if you are feeling depressed, if you wanna reaffirm your belief in finding true love and at the same time having a good laugh, do yourself a favor: watch this movie!
and to you my star.... i know you will always light up my sky ;0)
*Inside Story While Watching This Film
